Volume Pricing allows you to offer a reduced per-unit price when a customer orders a specific quantity. When a customer adds that product to their sales order, inFlow automatically applies the appropriate price as the quantity changes. This way, your wholesale customers receive their discount without anyone needing to calculate it manually.

Please note that Volume Pricing is a beta feature of the plugin and is being released gradually. Please contact the inFlow Team to request early access.

Before you start

• An administrator needs to install the Volume Pricing plugin from the Plugin Settings. See the Plugins: add new features to inFlow guide for how to install one. Once it’s installed, anyone who can edit products can set volume prices.
• Volume pricing works in inFlow for Web. It doesn’t appear in the inFlow Windows app or the mobile app.
• Volume pricing is applied to each product and pricing scheme, enabling you to provide wholesale customers with volume discounts. Meanwhile, your retail pricing remains unchanged.
• Volume pricing only works with fixed-price schemes. Schemes set to a fixed markup don’t offer the volume pricing icon, because their price is calculated from cost rather than set directly.

How to set volume prices for a product

1. Open the product and go to its pricing.
2. Find the pricing scheme you want to set volume prices for, then select the volume pricing icon next to its name (hover over it to see the Set volume pricing tooltip).
3. In the modal, enter a Min qty and the Volume price (per unit) that applies at that quantity and above.
4. Add as many rows as you need with + Add min qty, then select Save.

To change a tier later, reopen the modal and edit the row. To remove one, select the remove icon at the end of its row.

The modal shows the scheme’s regular Base price at the top, so you can see at a glance whether your volume price is actually a discount.

How volume pricing is applied to orders

Pricing Structure in inFlow

inFlow uses the highest minimum quantity from your order line to set the price. This means that a single price applies to the entire order line, rather than assigning different prices for separate quantities. For example, if you place an order for 100 units with a 50-unit break, every unit will be priced at the rate for 50 units.

Volume Pricing Conditions

Volume pricing only applies if it is lower than the standard product price for a specific pricing method. Make sure the order’s pricing method matches the one you set for the volume prices.

Recalculating Prices

inFlow automatically rechecks the price whenever you change the quantity, update the product, or modify the order’s pricing scheme. Additionally, volume prices are recalculated in both directions; if you reduce the quantity below a break point, the price will revert to a higher amount.

Unit of Measure Changes

If you change the unit of measure on an order line, inFlow promptly converts the quantity back to the selling unit and recalculates the price. For return lines, with negative quantities, the price you initially entered is retained, ensuring that any refunds match the amount the customer originally paid.

Selling Unit Pricing

It’s important to note that pricing is always based on the selling unit. For example, if you sell a product in cases but stock it in individual units (eaches), the price will apply to the unit you are selling. The amount you set is the actual price you want to charge, rather than a discount or percentage off the base price, and is presented in the currency associated with the pricing scheme you are editing. If you create a sales order through the inFlow API, via a CSV import, or through a connected store and include a unit price, inFlow keeps the price you sent instead of applying a volume price.

Uninstalling the plugin

Uninstalling Volume Pricing doesn’t change prices on orders you’ve already saved. It only stops new volume prices from being applied. Your tiers are kept in case you install the plugin again later.

Only administrators can uninstall a plugin.

1. Click on the Settings icon > Plugins.
2. Under Installed plugins, select the Volume Pricing card.
3. Select Uninstall, then confirm.

The volume pricing icon will no longer appear beside your pricing schemes, and inFlow will revert to using each scheme’s base price for new order lines.
