Price Changing Tool

How to change product prices in bulk in inFlow (beta)

The Price Changing Tool plugin lets you update multiple product prices from one screen, saving time. You can raise an entire category’s prices by 5%, align pricing schemes, or set a flat price for search results — all at once.

Please note that the Price Changing Tool is a beta feature of the plugin and is being released gradually. Please contact the inFlow Team to request early access.

Before you start

  1. An administrator needs to install the Price Changing Tool plugin from Settings > Plugins. Once it’s installed, anyone who can edit products can use it. See Plugins: add new features to inFlow for how to install one.
  2. The tool works in inFlow for Web. It doesn’t appear in the inFlow Windows app or the mobile app.
  3. The tool updates one pricing scheme at a time, so your other schemes remain unchanged.
  4. There’s no undo for a price change. Review the New price column before you select Update.

How to change product prices in bulk

  1. From the Main Manu, hover over the Inventory icon To view products, reordering, and more, hover over the Inventory icon., then select Price Changing Tool.
  2. Choose the pricing scheme you want to update.
  3. Choose what to base the new price on: Exactly (type a price yourself), Current (the scheme’s existing price), Cost, or another pricing scheme.
  4. Add or subtract a flat amount or a percentage.
  5. Select Add products and pick the products you want to reprice, by search or by category.
  6. Review the Old price and New price columns, and type over any New price you want to set by hand.
  7. Select Update.

To make another change, open the tool again. It’s one change per visit, the same as the mass price adjustment in the inFlow Windows app.

How the Price Changing Tool applies your changes

What you can base the new price on

Pick a starting point, then add or subtract a flat amount or a percentage from it. Exactly lets you type the price yourself, Current starts from the scheme’s existing price, Cost starts from what you pay, and choosing another pricing scheme starts from that scheme’s price.

Base the new price on Cost to rebuild a scheme’s margin from scratch, or on another pricing scheme to keep two schemes a fixed distance apart.

Which products get skipped?

Products priced with a fixed markup in the scheme you’re updating are skipped because their price is calculated from cost rather than set directly. See how to enter your product’s cost, price, and markup for how markup pricing works.

Working across currencies

If your base scheme uses a different currency than the scheme you’re updating, inFlow shows the conversion rate it’s using and converts the new prices for you.

Prices you type by hand

A price you type over wins against the calculation, and the row marks itself as edited so you can tell which ones you overrode.

What happens when you select Update?

inFlow saves the new prices and confirms how many products it updated. The table then freezes exactly as it was, so each row still shows its old and new prices, and you can check what you just did. The adjustment controls switch off, Add products and the row remove controls disappear, and Update is replaced by a single Done button that closes the tool. That way, a second click can’t apply the same adjustment twice.

Uninstalling the plugin

Uninstalling the Price Changing Tool doesn’t change any prices you’ve already updated. It only takes the tool itself away.

Only administrators can uninstall a plugin.

  1. Click on the Settings icon Hover over the Settings icon in the bottom-left corner of the Main Menu to access the inFlow settings., then Plugins.
  2. Under Installed plugins, select the Price Changing Tool card.
  3. Select Uninstall, then Close.

Price Changing Tool disappears from the Products menu. Your pricing schemes and product prices remain exactly as they were, and the tool returns if you install the plugin again later.
